Description

“Meetha nimbu achar – khatta hai, mitha hai, dono saath. Simple aur pyara.”

Our Meetha Nimbu Ka Achar is made from thin-skinned UP lemons slow-cooked with natural jaggery and a gentle spice blend of saunf and elaichi. No refined sugar, no vinegar, no artificial colour. The citrus and jaggery together create a sweet-sour combination that is very different from our regular spicy nimbu achar.

This is the mildest achar in our range. Good for children, spice-sensitive adults and anyone who wants citrus flavour without heat.

What is the difference between meetha nimbu achar and nimbu murabba?

Nimbu murabba is a preserve cooked in heavy sugar syrup to a semi-candied state. Meetha nimbu achar uses jaggery in smaller amounts, has more oil and salt, and has a more complex, less purely sweet flavour. It is thicker, more savoury and more versatile as a condiment. Also better as a digestive because of the salt and oil content.

Who is this best for?

Children who find regular achar too spicy. People who are spice-sensitive but still want something interesting with their meals. Anyone looking for a natural sweet-sour condiment that is not just a jam or chutney. Also excellent for gifting to people who may not be accustomed to very spicy Indian pickle.

Why Salteen

Meetha Nimbu Ka Achar is the gateway product in our range - the one that introduces people new to Indian pickle to what we do. Most sweet lemon products use refined sugar, artificial colour and synthetic flavour. Ours uses thin-skinned UP nimbu, natural jaggery and sendha namak. The result is a sweet-sour condiment with genuine depth that works as a side, a spread and a digestive.
