Raw Banana, Black Pepper, Pink Salt, Groundnut Oil
“Kali mirch wale kele ke chips – sophisticated, warm, slightly grown up.”
Our Black Pepper Banana Chips take the Nendran banana base fried in pure groundnut oil and coat it with coarsely cracked black pepper and salt. The warming, slow-building heat of black pepper is a completely different experience from red chilli – more aromatic, more sophisticated, gentler but equally addictive.
A good option for those who want spiced chips without the fiery hit. Also a genuinely interesting flavour pairing with coffee or cheese.
How does black pepper heat differ from chilli heat?
Black pepper contains piperine which creates a slow-building, warming sensation rather than the immediate capsaicin hit of chilli. The heat is gentler and fades faster. The aroma is also part of the experience – black pepper is as much about smell as heat. The combination with banana is quite different from chilli banana – more aromatic, less fiery.
Is it suitable for people who cannot handle spicy food?
Yes, more so than our red chilli variety. Black pepper heat is milder and more familiar to people with lower spice tolerance. A good middle ground between completely plain and fully spiced.

Pro tip
Serve black pepper banana chips alongside a chutney dip - mint coriander chutney works particularly well because the cool freshness of the chutney and the warm pepper complement each other.
Storage tip
Store in a cool dry place. Keep the pack sealed tightly after opening. Consume within 3 weeks of opening for best crunch. Do not store in the fridge - moisture will make namkeen lose crispness.
Black Pepper Banana Chips are our most sophisticated snack - the kind of flavour that takes people by surprise. Coarsely cracked black pepper on the natural sweetness of Nendran banana, fried in pure groundnut oil. Not artificially flavoured. The piperine warmth, the banana sweetness and the clean oil together create something genuinely interesting. For people who pay attention to what they eat and want something more nuanced than simply hot or plain.
